WE SALUTE YOU

THIS MORNING AS MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND
WAS ON HIS WAY TO THE AIRPORT,
HE SENT ME A TEXT, REMINDING ME
TO PUT THE FLAG OUT BECAUSE IT WAS
VETERAN'S DAY..
IT WAS STILL KIND OF FOGGY OUT
A VERY PRETTY MORNING
I HUNG THE FLAG ON THE FRONT PORCH.
AS I WAS HEADING BACK INDOORS,
I TURNED JUST IN TIME TO SEE A SLIGHT BREEZE
MAKE THE FLAG WAVE.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SYMBOL OF OUR FREEDOM.
BEING HOME ALL ALONE, IT GETS QUIET.. TO QUIET.
SO I TURNED ON THE TV.
PRESIDENT BUSH WAS SPEAKING
TO A GROUP OF VETERAN'S.
I DID NOT HEAR HIS WHOLE SPEECH.
BUT, I DID HEAR HIS FINAL WORDS..

MAY GOD BLESS YOU (SPEAKING TO THE VETERAN'S)
AND MAY GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..!!!
HOW WONDERFUL IT IS TO LIVE IN THIS GREAT NATION.
THE FREEDOMS WE HAVE . THE OPPORTUNITIES WE HAVE.

AS A GRAND DAUGHTER, DAUGHTER,
DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, NIECE, SISTER,
AUNT, COUSIN AND FRIEND OF SEVERAL BRAVE
HEROES THAT HAVE SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES,

I WANT TO SAY "THANK YOU"

WITHOUT YOUR SERVICE WE WOULD NOT HAVE
OUR FREEDOMS

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK
A NUMBER OF FAMILY MEMBERS THAT SERVE
RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN CITIES..
I COME FROM A FAMILY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
THAT PUT THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE DAILY
TO KEEP US SAFE.

MY FATHER, 2 BROTHER-IN-LAWS, SISTER, 2 NEPHEWS
MY NIECE AND SEVERAL COUSINS

EACH DAY THEY PUT ON A UNIFORM
AND HAVE TAKEN AN OATH TO
SERVE AND PROTECT US.

TO THEM I WANT TO SAY THANK-YOU..!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL..

AND FINALLY, AS A MOTHER OF A YOUNG MAN
SERVING OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL GRATEFUL AND PROUD
OF THEIR SERVICE OF PEACE..
THEY GIVE UP TWO YEARS OF THEIR LIFE
TO SERVE THE LORD
WHAT A WONDERFUL TESTAMENT TO
OUR HEAVENLY FATHER..

TO ALL THOSE WHO SERVE SO WE CAN REMAIN FREE
THANK YOU
AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU

You know Lora.. I am so glad your Father and I taught you kids about the flag.. and about Veteran's Day when you were little.. I remember we used to take you to Grandpa's and have lunch instead of going to School... How fun we had for such a proud day.. :)
